ABOUT ME

I come from a visual journalism background and love experimenting with new forms of storytelling online. As a journalist, I worked on infographics, data visualization, and animated explainers. As a developer, I hope to keep building beautiful things with a strong sense of narrative on the web.

WHERE'S WALDO GMAPS

My final project for the General Assembly course. Experimenting with the 3D JavaScript library Three.js to load, display, and annotate iconic vehicles from the NASA missions. The models were publicly available, converted, and loaded into a space-like environment along with information, videos, and interactives.

The app features five different machines: the Voyager Probe, Gemini Capsule, Saturn V Rocket, Lunar Lander, and the Apollo-Soyuz. The goal of the project was to create a learning platform that was also design conscious, my personal goal was to learn a lot more about how to model in three dimensions on the web.

CHICAGO TOW TRACKER

Chicago Tow Tracker taps into Chicago Open Data's live updating Towed Cars database. We built this application in five days using Ruby and Sinatra for back-end and HTML, CSS, Javascript and the JQueryUI library. I worked with Daniel Tabion (a fellow GA student) for this project.

WHERE'S WALDO GOOGLE MAPS

This started as me trying to learn the Google Maps Javascript API and Google Places API. Play ANYWHERE in the world by popping in a latitude and longitude up top. Address integration coming soon (so you don't have to know latitudes and longitude).
